Fast Money?

"It's has been two weeks and no changes" sighed Mark.
"Are you sure it's been that many?" questioned Jackson as he sat down on the concrete floors.
"I'm positive," reassured Mark, that I counted the days properly."
"Feels like we have sat in this concrete, 14 by 16 room for at least a month," resented Jackson. "Do you know when our contract ends?"
"As soon as they find the results they wish to see."
"Ugh, I wanted to get some fast money! This has turned out to be painstakingly long,"complained Jackson.

"It's easy though. All we have to do is sign that contract that says we can't sue the pharmaceutical company, take some untested pills and sit and wait. Oh, not mention we get free food while we're here and thirty thousand dollars! Only downside is that I have to wear the same clothing as you," says Mark trying to lighten the mood.

"I just need the money badly. I wonder how my kids and wife are fairing without me there to support them," worried Jackson.
"Someone will be there to watch over them and keep them safe," comforted Mark. "Why do you need the money exactly?" he asked.
"It would allow us finally move out of the hovel of a house from downtown Chicago to someplace where my kids can play outside. My wife and I wouldn't have to worry about them being caught in the crossfire of some drug deal," explained Jackson. He wished that the medical doctors would let them speak with their families but the contract is completely against it. "How come your going through this process of being a human guinea pig?"
"Well, I could have taken over my father's company but I wanted to do something for myself. So, I went against everything they had wanted and started up my own business and have had some shortcomings. It's either have this money or claim bankrupt."
"Wow, I have to give it to you for not conforming to their wishes; I would not have the guts to do that.
One of the  medical examiners interrupts the two men," Please come with me, time for your daily examination."
They walk through the only entrance way to the room and down a wide hallway with the same concrete walls and floor. At the end of the hallway, there are two white doors. This is where the two men part to be examined. Before entering they wish each other good luck and hope for the best.

Bullying Not a Problem?

When other schools show signs of exclusion there is one that does the opposite. That school would be Princess Margaret Secondary School. It's located in the city of Penticton, British Columbia and has roughly seven hundred students. Not an overly large school but enough where bullying could rise but does not.

One can walk through the hallways of Princess Margaret "Maggie" and feel happy, not afraid that they will have their lunch money stolen for being the new kid. Most of the students shared positive comments on anti bullying. It shows much more progression with anti bullying than the other high school in the city. The principle of Princess Margaret was in tears speaking about the students and their positive attitude toward each other.

There are many events held through out the year that showcase the school's talent but also a message of anti bullying encased in them. "This constant reminder can be a nuisance, "says Maggie student Poonam Chahal, "everyone knows that it would be rude to say something negative ." This just goes to show that these teens are well aware of how it has felt to be bullied and do not wish that on others. At lunch, one does not see social groups but rather tables joined together so no one is left out. "It's one big family," exclaims Taylor Zucht.
The staff and administrators also make sure to connect with students. Making sure that student have at least one person to talk to in their time of need. In addition, there are workshops such as Challenge Day, that allows students to share their lives with fellow students and show that bullying affects everybody. A student who experienced Challenge Day says,"It was life changing, the obstacles people have gone through in their lives." Not to mention, Pink day. It's a day that was derived from a situation in Eastern Canada and has come all the way to Western Canada. Everyone on this day wears pink and signs a petition to show that they're against bullying. It is evident that this school does not have to take many more steps to show that they are against bullying.

"I love this school," sobbed Don MacIntyre, Princess Margaret Secondary School principle.

University Application: Additional Information

Honorable University Admission Staff,

Not sure if you have ever heard of the girl who began dunking NBA height basketball nets at the age of four. She goes to undeveloped countries to cure diseases with her healing hands. She goes swimming in the frigidly cold Arctic Ocean on a regular Sunday. She goes to school five days of the week and meets with the worlds diplomats in her spare time. If you haven't already heard of this amazing girl, you should be honored that she is writing this letter to you.
I have won every award show that has aired on television. I can sing. I can dance. I can fly. The greatest minds that have passed away such as Albert Einstein came to me for help. Not to mention, I discussed the African American civil rights movement with Martin Luther King. I did this all as well before the age of four.
I have been honored with the Nobel Peace Prize in every category possible. I'll list them just in case you are not aware, physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, and for work in peace. I have been honored with a key to the city, Penticton. I have been honored with breakfast made my lovely mom everyday of the week.
In the morning, I cycled around Paris with Lance Armstrong. In the afternoon, I ate a late brunch with the Obama family. By nightfall, I had recorded a new song with Drake and Eminem. By midnight, I had finished singing my new song after Lady Gaga had opened for me at the concert.
I can hack anyone in this world. I can type four thousands words per minute. I can change what mother nature wishes. I can scale the treacherous Mount Everest in a record day and that without frostbite.I can write four blogs for English in less than four hours.
I know. I'm a super human. Take this opportunity to accept me and make your school the best in the world.

Thank you,

Armandeep Sidhu
